Judgment, assessed.
Engineering Quality Scorecard
A written assessment of your engineering teams' judgment across the four CODA dimensions. Two to four weeks. From €8,000.
A two- to four-week written assessment of your teams' engineering judgment. It covers the four dimensions of CODA, the Comprehension and Ownership Depth Assessment we're building: Decision Velocity, Decision Confidence, Comprehension Ratio and Review Depth.
We combine team interviews, codebase analysis, PR review pattern analysis and structured exercises to produce a written Scorecard with the findings per dimension and a prioritized leverage plan.
How it runs
- 1
Interviews and access
Interviews with the teams and their leads. Read access to the codebase and the review history. We don't interrupt delivery.
- 2
Analysis
Analysis across the four CODA dimensions: Decision Velocity, Decision Confidence, Comprehension Ratio, Review Depth. You see the findings per dimension before the report is final.
- 3
The report
The leverage plan with a first step per move, and the 90-minute executive briefing.
What you get
From €8,000
Two weeks for up to 20 engineers, up to four weeks for more. The price is agreed in writing before we start. Prices exclude VAT.
- Your written report across the four CODA dimensions.
- Your three highest-leverage moves, in priority order, each with a first step.
- A 90-minute executive briefing for engineering leadership.
- Everything in your hands, for the next Scorecard to measure against.
Who it's for
- VP Engineering, Engineering Directors and CTOs at companies with 5 to 200 engineers and active AI tool adoption.
- Best fit when AI usage is already routine and leadership wants a clean read on whether its teams are getting sharper or sloppier.
- Not for teams that haven't adopted AI tools yet. For them, there is nothing to assess. The first conversation tells you whether you're ready.
What to expect
We need read access and about two hours a week from one lead. We don't interrupt delivery. You see the findings before the report is final. Where AI is in the loop, we say so.
Questions engineering leaders ask
No. The first conversation is enough to pick a Dojo track or scope a Sprint. A Scorecard before and after gives you the measured change if you want it.
DORA measures delivery outcomes, SPACE measures productivity. CODA looks at the judgment underneath both. We cite SPACE and DORA in every Scorecard; the Scorecard adds the layer they don't cover.
About two hours a week from one lead, plus a 30-minute interview per engineer in week one. Nobody stops delivering.
You own the report and the plan. Most teams pick one leverage move and run it themselves. A Judgment Dojo or a Precision Sprint is there if you want us alongside. When you want one, a follow-up Scorecard measures the change.
